The pastas from the Pgh Public Market are amazing - I tend to do a themed grouping of food gifts, so I'm leaning towards these pastas, with some of Lidia's bowls (and maybe some sauce, I know, not truly 'local'), a bag of Enrico's biscotti, and some Italian Roast from LaPrima. Heck, I may just give that to myself!!

My friend and I have a small business together, which also promotes local artists and producers. It's called Standing Chimney, located in Lawrence County just outside of Mt. Jackson. She and I have liscenced bakeries and also make a variety of baking mixes. So, my favorite locally made gift to give to my friends and family are my mixes. And my favorite mixes to give are my Oat Bran Muffin Mixes, in a variety of flavors. At this time of year, I usually give 'Here We Go Stillers'- a chocolate oat bran muffin mix with Black(semi-sweet chocolate) and Gold (peanut butter) baking bits. They're delicious and healthy, naturally sweet with lots of fiber. Available at Standing Chimney 566 Paden Rd. New Galilee,PA open the first Saturday of each month and every Saturday in November.

Mary, thanks for telling all your blog readers about the Frontier Dinner. It's not to late to purchase tickets for a fabulous evening with amazing food in a breathtaking setting with plenty of liquid refreshments, and if you are so inclined you can enjoy a cigar on us! Hope to see you there!!
